Friends of the June 5th Memorial Park
The Friends Group is dedicated to preserving the memories of those lost to the building collapse on June 5, 2013, at the corner of 22nd and Market Streets, and respecting this place made sacred through tragic loss. In addition to caring for and maintaining the physical well-being of the Park, the Friends Group works to raise awareness of worker and building safety to prevent tragedies like that which occurred on June 5, 2013 from happening again.
The Friends Group has been given the support of the June 5th Memorial Committee which is a group of citizens who came together in 2013 to advocate for the June 5 Memorial Park and planned and raised funds for the June 5th Memorial Park. The Friends Group plans to partner with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to serve as fiscal agent and informal information resource.
We welcome all those who are interested in joining the Friends Group in support of our important mission of preserving and maintaining the beauty of this park, and for fund raising advocacy for building safety and demolition safety regulations. We are planning exciting programming activities that will take place at the memorial site for the 2020-2021 calendar year.
